An immersive environement in which the percieved sensory inputs do not correspond correctly can lead to serious after effects such as dizziness, sickness, headaches and disorientation. This effect is particularly pronounced when what has been seen does not correspond with the percieved sense of balance. The simulator sickness phenomena accentuates the active roll of the of the cognizant subject.
A parallel consistency test is always underway during perception, meaning that the perceiving person is constantly analyzing whether the attempt to unite different sensory perceptions in one harmonic whole is successful.
